How to Play Survivor in BreakDoor

Hold a numbered room, print money, and live the night without feeding conversions.

How to Play Survivor

Playing Human in BreakDoor is a private factory job with a public death timer. You are one of eight Survivors. Two Demons are in the building. Rescue is about twenty minutes away. Your numbered safe room is the only place that prints your cash, holds your door, mounts your turret, and runs your laboratory. Neighbors can distract a Hunter. They cannot upgrade your wood panel for you. If you queued to wander the hall and comment, switch to Hunter or leave. This page is the Survivor loop from spawn to rescue.

New accounts should finish Getting Started first. Hunters should open How to Play Hunter.

The Human win is occupancy plus the clock

You win by still being Human and alive when rescue is due. Everything in the room exists to buy that clock. Cash machines and gear factories buy door tiers, turret levels, and research. Doors buy time against a Demon that evolves as the night goes on. Turrets buy time when you are looking at the laboratory. Weapons buy a chance to drop a Hunter instead of only delaying one. Conversion is the silent loss condition: a Human can become a Hunter, which is the From Prey to Predator badge, and the original two Demons are not the same creature as a convert. Play as if feeding the other side another body is worse than losing a machine.

Economy before cosmetics

The first quiet seconds belong to income. Stack a cash machine, then a gear factory if the room is not already screaming. Gold and cash are different taps; keep both moving instead of staring at one counter. Exact per-second tables are not on this page because they change and because your first mistake is never off by two gold. Your first mistake is a door still on wood while you admire a laboratory. Full sinks, Gems, Lucky Spins, and class prices live on the economy guide. In-round, spend like this: income until the door is off the starting tier, door whenever a warning state appears, turret when the door is stable, research when the room is not currently being chewed.

Door, turret, then laboratory

A neglected door is how Hunters get First Blood. Upgrade from wood toward Eternal Divine Gates on the door upgrades path, and repair when the panel is already damaged instead of pushing a vanity tier while it burns. Warning states exist so you look up. If you hear or see the door under attack, stop researching. The room turret is automatic defense. It does not replace a door. It punishes a Hunter who commits to your frame while you are still printing money. Buy it after the door is real, not as a substitute for plywood.

Weapons and research are the Human counterpunch. Official listing copy promises six legendary weapons ending with Horn of Counterattack, described as strong enough to slay even a final-form Demon. You unlock that line through the room laboratory, not by wishing in the hall. Lethal Poison is the research that changes Hunter math: it can convert original Hunters and ties to No Second Chances. Human research lines track Cutting Edge. Life Wizard work includes teleport portals and Twin Portal. Mechanist-era Mech damage tracks Iron Awakening. Class stages on the Human side track Breakthrough. Life Wizard costs 25,000 Gems and Magnetic Storm Warrior costs 30,000 Gems; those are account unlocks, not a substitute for this round’s cash machine. Details sit on legendary weapons. Powerhouse is ten million damage as a Human. Chase it after you can survive a knock, not instead of a door.

Conversion risk and downed time

Hunters stay aggressive because Humans take time to get back after being downed. That delay is your tax. If you get dropped, the room keeps printing only if the door still exists. Do not ego-peek a evolved Demon in the hall because you bought a class. Play the door. If conversion starts, you are no longer on the rescue plan; you are a new Hunter with different badge rules. Hunter Slayer excludes converted kills, which is a Hunter problem, but it should tell you the game treats converts as a different species. Your job is not to become that species.

Help a neighbor only with spare attention. A second Human’s Eternal Divine Gate does not save you if your own entrance is open. Call the number under attack, then go home.

Mid-round and the last four minutes

Once income is running and the door is off wood, spend on the thing that is failing. Quiet room: machines and research. Door warning: repair and tier up. Hunter camping you: turret plus weapons, not another factory. Hunters evolve on a clock you cannot pause, so a mid-round shopping spree that ignores the entrance is how Breach! happens on your frame. Dawn Survivor is the badge for living the night. Home Sweet Home already fired when you occupied the room. Veteran Survivor is the long-account version of showing up. None of those badges spend your cash for you.

The last four minutes are a different game. Evolved Demons hit harder. Legendary weapons and Lethal Poison matter more than a seventh factory. If rescue is close and two rooms are already gone, hold the door you still have. Mech damage and Life Wizard portals are for living Humans who still own an entrance.

Play the room you still own

A good Survivor round is boring on purpose. You found the number, fed machines, lifted the door, and bought a turret that fires while you research. You did not donate a convert. You spent the last minutes on weapons and poison instead of a cosmetic factory. If that feels slow, you are still thinking like a hallway hero. BreakDoor’s Human side is a timed shop with a Demon at the glass. The Guides Hub sends you to doors, turrets, and weapons when a specific system failed. The Players Hub is for role identity after you already lived a night. Tonight, occupy the number and keep the wood from being the last thing a Hunter sees.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What should Survivors upgrade first in BreakDoor?

Start cash or gold machines, then lift the door off wood. Turret and laboratory wait until the entrance is not still plywood.

Can Humans be turned into Hunters?

Yes. Conversion exists and tracks From Prey to Predator. Converted Hunters are not the same as the original two Demons.

What does Lethal Poison do for Survivors?

It is laboratory research that can convert original Hunters and ties to No Second Chances. Read the weapons and research page before you dump a whole bank into it.

Should I leave my room to help a teammate?

Only if your door is stable. Each Human owns a numbered room. A neighbor's gate does not replace yours.

How do Life Wizard and Magnetic Storm Warrior fit this guide?

They are Gem classes (25,000 and 30,000). They do not replace in-round cash machines. Life Wizard portal work also tracks Twin Portal.

What is Powerhouse?

A Human badge for dealing 10 million damage. Earn it after the door and economy exist, not as your first-round goal.
